What is SARmission?

SARmission is a mission-management application for canine search- and-rescue (K9-SAR) teams. It supports the full operational workflow:

  • Tactical map with IPP marker and search-area polygons
  • Unit roster with dog-welfare-aware shift timer
  • Probability-of-Area / Probability-of-Detection (Mattson) prioritization
  • Lost-Person-Behavior (Koester 2008) probability rings
  • Multi-device live-sync over local-network or internet
  • Mission journal with radio-message templates
  • Import/export to GPX, KML, GeoJSON, DOCX, PDF
  • DV-101 standard tactical-sign symbology
  • AES-256-GCM at-rest encryption with optional master passphrase

Why is this relevant for non-K9 BOS personnel?

If you are an incident-command (ELW) operator from a non-K9 BOS organization (fire, EMS, police, THW), you may need to coordinate with a K9 search team during a major-incident response. SARmission supports the cross-organization standards you already know:

  • DV-101 tactical signs (Bevölkerungsschutz dispatch standard)
  • ICS-equivalent ELS-201 / ELS-204 forms (situation report, assignment list)
  • GPX / KML / GeoJSON map data exchange
  • Multi-aid-organization unit registry (DRK / JUH / MHD / ASB / BRH / THW)
